It is interesting the things you start watching, monitoring, and paying attention to as an expat.
Usually when we travel, we like to see a really strong dollar, so trip expenses are a little more palatable. However, when you get paid in Danish kroner and need to wire money back to the US bank account, you wait, watch, check, and hope that at some point the dollar will be weak.
Then, you pounce.
...and pounce, we did.
Once the transfer is complete, then the dollar can bounce back. It's all about timing.

:) LOVE the weak dollar. We pounced too... our maximum limit on two different days. :) Now we have dollars again...
ReplyDeleteHow much in fees do you pay? Out of curosity... On this end we pay 60 kroner (because our US bank doesn't have a SWIFT code). Our USA bank takes $15.00 and then "someone" takes $20.00 ??? Nobody seems to know who though?
Girl, I know just what you mean...we have SHOPPED, SHOPPED, SHOPPED this wek with our Danish credit card...and now, the day we are flying home, the dollar is on its way back up!!! Perfect timing!
