I'm back in the land of sunny people and sunshine. Did you detect the sarcasm?
I managed to make my way from a little town in the Midwest to a little town in southern jutland, Denmark. I left my sister's house at 4:30pm on Monday and arrived at my Danish home at 4:45pm on Tuesday (9:45am midwest time).
Luckily, SAS overbooked the ORD-CPH (Chicago-Copenhagen) flight, so I was upgraded to business class and I didn't even have to use any miles! I usually book economy and then use points to upgrade to economy extra, but hey a free upgrade to business was a welcomed surprise.
On the flight to Denmark, I ended up sitting next to another woman who was recently married. We started chatting about what her husband does and wouldn't you know, he too is in the local government business... and I recognized his name, but never actually met him. Small world.
So, now I am back in Denmark and have a huge list of things to do. First on the list....the dreaded yard work. The bushes are completely overgrown and the weeds are standing about 1' high in the driveway. For a non-homeowner, I sure have a lot of home upkeep responsibilities.

Welcome home! I have never been upgraded on an international flight - years ago when I was flying domestic all the time, I was always in business, but I'm dying to try it on an overseas flight!
