US Embassy in Copenhagen

My passport book is just about full. I think I have one full page (front only) remaining and my passport is still valid for another 5 years! I know, nobody out there is shedding a tear for my predicament.

While I was in the US in June, I was going to send it off to the Chicago office to get pages added. But....it was a 4-6 week turnaround. Hmmm, I needed my passport in 3 weeks so I could return to Denmark, so that wasn't going to work.

And, I don't sit still long enough to wait endless weeks for additional pages. Options, what exactly are my options. Enter, the US Embassy in Copenhagen. Now, here's something to be happy about...a 10 day turnaround. Really.

Hmmm, do I have 2 weeks of no travel. Of course, August is completely open and I do have a photocopy of my passport and visa page if we get stopped while in the car.

So, as soon as we returned back from our summer holiday, I put the application and passport in an envelope and mailed it (registered) to the US Embassy in Copenhagen.

I mailed it on Monday, August 3 and by Friday, August 8 I had my passport back in my hands. Seriously. Now, that's service!

It's not the prettiest of amendments and I have a sneaky suspicion that border controls around the globe will be taking a second look. Oh well, now it's time to plan more travel!
